Enrol an iPhone or iPad
About five minutes. You'll need iOS and iPadOS 17 or later and your enrolment link. Wardlark is for company-owned iPhones and iPads; personal phones aren't supported yet.
Steps
Open your enrolment link in Safari
It has to be Safari: other browsers can't install profiles. The page says Let's set up your device and picks iPhone or iPad for you. If it doesn't, choose it under Which device are you setting up?
Download the profile
Under Set up your iPhone or iPad, tap Download the Wardlark profile. When Safari asks to download a configuration profile, tap Allow.
Open Settings
Open the Settings app and tap Profile Downloaded near the top. If you don't see it, go to General, then VPN & Device Management.
Install it
Tap Install, enter your passcode, then tap Install again. When it asks whether to trust the profile for remote management, tap Trust.
That's it
Your device checks in with Wardlark a minute or two later. If you don't have a passcode yet, you'll be asked to set one.
What changes on your device
- You'll need a passcode of at least 6 digits, and the screen locks after a short time.
- Your admin can see the model, serial number, iOS version and whether a passcode is set.
- Your admin can't see your messages, photos, email, location or browsing history.
- If the device is lost, your admin can lock it (it unlocks with its usual passcode) or erase it.
If something goes wrong
Nothing happens when you tap Download the Wardlark profile. Check you're in Safari, not Chrome or the Gmail app. Copy the link into Safari and try again.
Profile Downloaded has disappeared. Downloaded profiles expire after a few minutes. Open the link again and install it straight away.
The page says "Apple devices aren't ready yet". Nothing's wrong with your device: your organisation is still setting up Apple devices in Wardlark. Check back later, or let whoever sent you the link know.
The page says "This link doesn't work any more". It may have expired, been switched off or been used up. Ask whoever sent it for a new one.
